Lost keys. Spare keys set of alarm!!! grrrr

Hey,
My GF has lost her keys for the MCS C (well actually i've lost them ) . but we have the spare set although it has no remote on it so u have to put the key in the door n turn to open it. I expected it to go off this first time but everytime i open n lock the car with this spare key the alarm goes of and wont let me start it for about 30secs?
Is there a way around this b4 we find the proper key?
It was rather embaracin at the petrol station.
thnx

I know with the plastic emergency key you have 20 secs from unlocking the door to get the key in the ignition ans moved to the 1st position before the alarm goes off - I assume the same is true if you other "real" spare isnt a remote key too

Did you double lock it? This happened on mine when I left the remote at home... If you do double lock it try doing it in reverse when unlocking and see if that stops it.

hey guys.
thanks for the replies....

She's found them now though. Somehow they managed to get in the dog basket with a couple of teeth marks in them. Ah well, working fine. Teach me not to leave them on the coffee table.

cheers for the replies, i'm always impressed with how helpful everyone is on this site.
