Book 0-60's

Hi what are the book 0-60 times for the July 04 (170bhp) onward S's?

Can someone explain this one, because the checkmate is quicker etc, but I want to know how quick a standard one is and has anyone timed yourself?

7.2 secs is what it says. Pre facelift models (163bhp) were 7.4 thats is for the hard top versions anyway.

I wasnt aware the checkmate versions were any quicker. you sure about that??

I think those times you quoted are to 0-62? Yes the 0-60 on the checkmate is quicker according to parkers.co.uk

Checkmate is a standard facelift 170bhp Cooper S
S/S Checkmate (170bhp) 0-62mph 7.2 secs
S (163bhp) 0-62mph 7.4 secs

timing yourself is never going to be accurate, I.E stopwatch had my 163bhp on the 0-60 strip at Silverstone couple of years ago (3 goes) 7.4 - 7.2 -6.99, but that was done with professional equipment
