5 year BMW extended Warranty

Anybody take the 5 year BMW extended warranty on their MINI? The finance guy was really pushing it telling me how I would get all my money back ($599)on the first brake job. Since I have never taken one of these warranties (I never buy extended warranties for anything) I wondered if they really are worth it?

Hey Markie,

Your car is the color I want.........although options will be a little different. How do you like the color in real life? I thought about the white top etc........but me and my wife agreed on the black instead.........so thats what I will order when that day comes. Any pics would be great if you have them.......that will satisfy my needs for now until I get my own.

Thanks,

Jake

Wow! Will they cover tires, clutches, and windshield wipers too?

Sorry for the sarcasm, but warrantees typically don't cover normal wear and tear. Your brake pads are designed to wear. If they didn't your discs would wear faster.

I'd be very skeptical, and pay clear attention to the phrasing that your finance salesman is using. Make sure you understand all of ways his statement could be interpreted. Also insist on seeing, and be sure to read both the normal and extended warrantee.

I'm doubt that either cover brake pads.

If it sounds like I'm implying that you not blindly trust the finance guy. Good. Because hat's exactly what I'm trying to say.

Cheers,
Brant

Another thing to ask him is when it takes effect. From day zero doesn't do you much good, as you're covered by the MINI warranty. It'd only be worth it if it started the day the regular warranty ends.

I paid $1000 for VW extended warranty and when time came to make claim, company had filed Bankruptcy, as had dealer. If waranty is not from BMW, check out the provider.

Thumbs up

Amigos, I have used extended warranties and they have paid their dividends, check out www.warrantydirect.com they are cheaper and very note worthy in the industry.
