I'm gonna be lucky to get 7k out of my 17" Pirelli Euforia's on my MCS, they're not wearing too well, I think it's my foot to the floor driving style!

Under-inflation can dramitically effect your tyre milage. Do you check the inflation pressure often? Have you tried increasing the pressure above the factory recs?

Dunlop SPS Sport 9000 Tyres

I'd be interested in any feedback on tyre wear.I had my two front's replaced yesterday at 12,014 miles 205/45/17's, and they were just below the legal limit.

I drive quickly, on a daily commute of 100 miles , 50 miles are on fast A (Trunk)and B roads(country twisters!) within the UK , the remainder motorway, addional business mileage is on A roads and Motorway's

I would have got 15,000 out of my Impreza's tyres.

The walls of these run flats are much less pliable than P Zero's or similar, and handling may suffer because of this ...

Anyone else changed tyres yet?

My car has 1300+ miles on it now and roughly 400 miles of it was hard canyon cornering. Of course, the engine is still being broken in so i'm not hard at all, but the tires sure are getting a workout and I could see some wear already! The wear rate is dissapointing BUT at least they have excellent grip for a STOCK tire. I am just used to my last car with continentals that seem to have lasted forever. :-D

5K on mine and today I'm going to rotate back for fronts to try and extend the life. (then it will cost me for 4 tyres when the time comes!!)

I run 36.5 psi all round on 17 euphorias and drive the wee beastie like theres no tomorrow (including having tracked it at knockhill circut)

I therefore reckon on about 12 K from the tyres.

I forget but didnt it say somewhere or did someone say before that we shouldnt rotate the rear tires of the MINI to the front for some reason?

UCSDxBoi: Typically in a FWD drive car the front tires wear out quicker than the rear since they are getting the stress to steer and power through turns. When you rotate the worn fronts to the rear, some stores don't recommend you do it since it will induce oversteer easier than before. Most norm people don't know how to handle oversteer, if they are ever caught in that situation they will naturally resort to braking which will completely destroy the balance by causing weight shift to the front and making a spin out possible. So.. I think that's the idea.

I had horrible wear problems with my first set of front tires. Then after talking to several people about it we came down to poor alignment out of the factory. This was only discovered after taking a few cars to a third party shop. As in one that had nothing to do with BMW. BMW doesn't seem to admit fault in anything. What we found was that the toe is adjusted out too far. This makes the car steer very easy and feel like it turns on a dime, but is hell on tires.

You might want someone to look into the alignment. If they start showing light wear from the fronts to backs they can be rotated. Just make sure they are stay on the same side. You don't want to change the direction of a radial tire once it's broken in.

Oh and don't expect to get great wear out of any Pirelli. They are soft and will require replacement a little sooner then one might expect. 12,000-15,000 depending on driving style is pretty good. If you get more all the better.
