Thumbs up 230 gtt upgrade insurance increase

hi guys
hoping to get 230 gtt upgrade soon.
currently with Adrian flux paying £350 fully comp, on standard mcs, full no claims, garage at night etc etc, has anyone had the upgrade and told ins company?
and if so what was the increase to original quote
thank you

If they have had the upgrade and not told the ins company then they are being a bit daft!!

Would also be interested also to see the insurance increase as I am with A.Flux too, but for the 220 upgrade.

Well I can only say what happened to me. I was paying £250 fully comp with NU for a std S. Enquired online with A.Flux for a GTT230 conv, and was quoted £350 fully comp.
Went ahead with the conversion. Then A. Flux quoted £500 fully comp over the 'phone. I queried this and was told that the internet quotes were only approximate.

Ended up paying £50 extra to NU (whom to my surprise agreed to insure the car with these mods) for the remaining 6 months of the insurance. Just waiting now to see what NU quote me to renew in November.

I also had this problem with Adrian Flux - I think there was a £75 difference between t'internet & telephone quote!!

I'm £325 FC with full NCB for my MCS c/w GTT230 equivalent kit.

Wouldn't that be breaking the law, rather than being a bit daft? As if you don't declare mods, you're not properly insured...

Just wondered how old some of you people are with these insurance quotes if thats not to rude? Im 24 and have an 06 cooper s with GTT220 and had trouble getting insured once i had the mods carried out as i was under 25? In the end i stayed with admiral who tryed to put it up to 1200 when i was paying 800 fully comp standard, with aftermarket wheels and coilovers in the end i went with the 10 month bonus scheme for 750, next year il be 25 so hopefully get some better quotes!

Rich

I'm 36 with full protected NCB & clean licence if that helps your last question regarding age.................and no your not being rude by asking !!

Cheers,

Al

I'm 29 and my wife is 30.. we pay £575 with Adrian Flux, fully comp with protected NCB for a Hartge MCS with 18" alloys, Janspeed exhaust, air filter, Eibach lowered springs, some body detailing.

I told them I was part of a Mini club (Mini2) and wanted a limited mileage policy as my wife uses the car for nursery/work. Elephant wanted £1100!!!!!

It's daft. If you don't declare the mods you aren't insured. So logically why pay anything
when you aren't insured . Either don't insure the car or insure and declare.
I recommend the latter!
