is it that hard for sunroofing?

Hi there,
I sold my cooper, and have been in the lookout for a cooper s for the past 2 weeks.

As long as its a facelift, has a chili pack and is DARK SILVER with a BLACK roof and sunroof im up for it.

But i've found that there are so few on sale. Is it rare to see a dark silver S with a sunroof?

not silver rare. but panoramic sun roof expensive option when new, so rare to find one. think it was around £1500

Just wanted to say that I looked twice daily for at least two months before I found my ideal Cooper S- (dark silver, chilli pack with a black panoramic roof) I BECAME OBSESSED and boy was I quick off the mark in snapping the right one up!

I was incredibly lucky because the person who originally bought had really splashed out on the extras- Sat nav, cruise control etc So it just shows that there are some really good cars out there to be had.

I don't think what you're looking for is that rare- as there's a car almost identical to mine in the carpark at my work place!

It will be worth the wait once you do get it! My car is stunning!

Between myself and my OH we're probably had all the variants. I had a coop with sun roof, we've had sat nav on all our Minis. Agree that you don't see many S's with the panoramics, but it IS worth it if you can afford it. You MUST also get the sat nav -- its such a pain having a non-builtin satnav having to hide it away, play with all the cables, clean the sucker marks off your windscreen!!

I've got the Panoramic sunroof on mine, too. DS/White roof. Havn't seen too many around these parts with them either

I wanted Indi Blue with white roof & white wheels + panoramic roof and when I was looking they were super rare! But eventually found a nice low mileage example and snapped it up! Love that roof & glad I held out!

It wasn't that expensive an option - £680 seems to ring a bell from when I got my MCS new in Jan 06.

Thing is sunroofs kinda went out of fashion in cars here in the UK when aircon started becoming the must have accessory. Manufacturers fitted it as standard over a sunroof. I remember in the 80s if a car didn't have a sunroof it was considered poorly equipped. That's when those cut out aftermarket moonroofs became popular - along with all the leaking problems at no extra cost! Ironically a car with one of those dodgy sunroofs is now worth less than one with a standard roof when it comes to classics like old Golf GTis.

I prefer a sunroof over aircon but given our climate now - you've got to have both - aircon is worth it's weight in gold on those muggy rainy days. Plus it's great for demisting the screen in a flash.

Think you'll find more DS MCS cars with a black roof with a sunroof fitted as it just blends perfectly. The car will be out there - it's just a case of waiting for it to come along - don't compromise as you'll regret it in the future.

The markets dead sluggish at the mo - a lot of people are sticking with what they've got. The Sept 1st 58 plate may bring some more stock onto the market.

There's a high spec one on ebay with an auto box - great if you're in city traffic a lot.
