What month did production stop ?

I am interested in buying the last of the supercharged MINI cooper S….
What month in 2006 did production stop?

I think it was in November, but I could be wrong. However, even the current Cabrios are still supercharged.

The last 1st Generation Cooper S were built in September 2006, but there were quite a few still unregistered as late as January/February 2007.

Tigger, Eeyore & Roo on here has got one of the last of them, registered in February 2007.

I know that there were about 50 left unsold when I nearly gave Westerly's an order at the end of December. I finally gave them the order on around the 15th of January and there were about 10 left in the country at that stage. Mine's registration was then delayed until the 6th of February and, as far as I'm aware, that was the last one.

Unless anyone knows of a even later one....

I just bought a late August 06 S on Tuesday night. Perviously had a july 05 S I've noticed a few changes within a year of production. Passenager Airbag lock is now on the roof beside the map reading lights (06 car has sunroof don't no if this makes a difference), onboard computer measures readings differently, eg MPG starts of low and works up while the other car starts high then works down (if that makes sense).

Correct me if I am wrong, but it is not the registration date but the build date noted on the plate under the bonnet that should be quoted, mine is a late factory Works build date August 06, I also understand that September07 are the last build dates for the UK.

Do you not mean Sep06. Sure they started making the R56 towards the end of 06, as the launch was November 06.


My Cooper sat fo 6months before being reg. Build July 05 reg Jan06.
