Exclamation Which Pulley Brand to buy for MCS

Hi,

I find there are many compaines that sell pulleys for MCS, so would like to know which is the best or they all give same power

M7 16%
Alta 15%
Mini Madness 15%
Ultrik 15%
Alta V2 15%

Well, there are a ton of threads on this but I'll give my .02 as I have installed 4 of the 5...

The MM is on my car installed by me and it was a pretty straight forward install with no problems. It is a nice pulley with good build.

The Alta V1 is nice, but the V2 is a much better build. It also uses the same collar on the 17% so if you wanted to upgrade to the smaller pulley you could with less effort.

The M7 that I installed had a very tight fitting collar (we had to use a rubber mallet to get it on).

Overall the design is the same from pulley to pulley with the collar clamping down on the shaft and the pulley bolting to the collar. The biggest choice is who you want to give you money to.

True there are so many threads about them, and I read most of but wanted to know which one was the best. I thought M7 will be the best because it's 16% compare to others. So which one is the cheapest. I might go with MM because of the easy install.

With where you are in the world I defintley would be more worried if I could afford an intercooler to go with the pulley rather than the pulley on its own.

Depends if you ask me... Daily driver (no track) you can get away with stock. Track of any kind, uprated is the way to go.

Any of the vendors listed here or from the source like Alta. You just need to shop around and find the price that fits your budget.

Personally I wouldn't recommend a stock belt. I went with a 15% and the stock belt was slipping a bit. Smaller belt made a huge difference and you are going with even a smaller pulley.

No, I have done them for many other MINI owners including myself. 15% is 15%...
