Silver Black Brake Caliper Painting

2 months into owning my Mini Cooper S i have finally decided to start the mod process and where better than the boring break calipers. Thinking of doing them red (car is Gun metal)... but not sure at all.

Help Me out Mini People.

Whats the best colour.
is it better to buy new calipers or paint the old ones
how much should both cost
if being painting where can i get it done. Im in London.

??????????????:confu sed:

mstyle in Romford can do it for you, i think red will look best with your colour, or maybe yellow. You could always paint them yourself as it's not that hard

crammy -thanks i will check them out - i am keen to do these things myself but often i see that the caliper paint come out very thick and doesnt look professinal hence why dont mind too much paying someone else but i think new calipers would set me back a few hundred esp for JCW ones - do NOT want to pay that much

i think Red it is!

Im looking to do the same sort of thing but was hoping to get them powder coated - i have been told this is the treatment/finish the JCW calipers have. The existing calipers can be cleaned off and then the coating goes on - meant to be better finish/longer lasting than the caliper paints (you can get caliper paint from Halfords not that Im going down that route).

I just need to find somewhere which can do it at a reasonable price - I think I have found a place but am waiting for them to get back to me - will let you know how I get on.

Thumbs up

Red's the way to go, if you can powder coat them, better, if not, go with the paint:

How wide is the hall-way, Napster?

I'm fitting my JCW calipers with R56 cross drill 294mm disks tomorrow, so i'll let you know.

My rear ebc disks haven't arrived with goodridge brakes hoses and 5.1 fuild so I'm leaving the rears till later on this week.

Hi
Ive yet to do mine but I did do my previous car an mr2. Did them myself and it is so easy. I did them yellow and people asked where to get them from. Used halfords brake paint and a small brush. Take your time. Take one wheel off and wire brush any loose bits from the calipar then paint new colour on. Get yourself a brew while the paint dries then after 15 mins recoat. it looks a bit of a mess after the first coat but dont worry. When the second coat goes on and dries it looks great. Put your wheel back on and start again on the others. it really is easy and looks great when done. The paint isnt dear either.

I'd go RED too. Perhaps as soon as I put some time into it, I'll get it done as well.
