Just sent an email to the secretary of the BMW Drivers club of NSW to find out if we can join and the answer was a big yes. They have track days etc and from djafactor's
thread http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...threadid=16448
i think we should get amongst them

Uh oh, you aussi's are going to get hooked . Out with the runflats, time for some real rubber. Have fun, good luck and be safe.

dsc68, errr, car hehehe

djafactor, you inspired me to go looking... can't wait to mix it up when i get the works kit. And safety is assured, could you imagine having to wait another 7 months for another mini??? I don't think so

Question

Does that mean we can join both the Mini club and the BMW club?

With track meetings and stuff what happens with accidents. Hopefully, there aren't any, but I wouldn't think the insurance companies would pay for repairs after accidents at meetings. Not sure I would want to risk a brand new car that I am paying a reasonable amount of money for with no insurance.

Not sure about that, but you can read about the track days on the website. They sound like they regulate them pretty well to make sure there are no incidents.

It does sound like it would be fun.
I may initially go to some and watch what happens before racing, if I do go at all. I am sure I would be one of the slower drivers that would hold everyone up, but I am sure that I would have a huge grin on my face after driving at speed. I don't claim to be the worlds best driver, but I would race my hardest whilst trying to avoid others.
