MCS Supercharger problem

Hi,

I have a Mini Cooper S ´04 model and the guys at my local workshop have informed me that I need to change the supercharger completely. The car went in after a constant whining sound from the enginebay. I live in Iceland so second-hand items for these models are impossible to find and the local BMW dealer(we do not have a official Mini dealer) has offered me a new one for a ridiculous amount...

Where would be the best place online to buy new or used superchargers for this model? Also is this a common fault since my car is only driven around 45.000 miles?

If I am going to change the whole things what options do I have to increase the power as a little bonus?

Can you get a second opinion??? had a problem with mine " 53 plate" turned out to be collapsed breather pipes.

Hi mate, i may be able to get hold of a supercharger for you. i know someone who is breaking a MCS for spare parts.

Hi, thanks for the info. I had the supercharger removed and sent to a specialist in turbos/superchargers with the same conclusion. It has to be rebuilt or changed completely.

Adam if you could check how much he wants for the SC and let me know I would be greatful.
