It may need a good service, also check your tyre pressures too.

my 2004 JCW S with mods usually did 350 but I have seen 420 and above a few times though thats careful driving. Not sure why but its the most economical mini I have ever seen. Even in convoys all at the same speed I would use lots less petrol (even with same mods) I would expect no less than 300 with fun driving

Got 338miles on a nearly full tank on my Cooper. I was pretty chuffed with it. That included both motorway and about town driving.
