Recommend me an Exhaust?

Hi

The exhaust on my partners 53 plate Cooper S is on it's way out and we have been looking at getting it replaced.

We took it to a local tyre/exhaust centre on Saturday and they have quoted a price of nearly £900 to replace with an OEM exhaust from the cat back. They have also suggested an alternative of a Scorpion exhaust for under £500. Both prices fitted.

Next stop is BMW mini, but seeing the cost of these things is there a favoured aftermarket exhaust for the R53 at a reasonable price we should consider? Have heard good things of Milltek in the past, but don't know if they are good for the mini. Don't want anything to loud/chavvy though.

Cheers

Thanks for that. Miltek seem popular then, will have to investigate.

Are OEM exhausts really that expensive?

You could get a 2nd hand one for cheaper, I just threw my old one away when I got my Miltek even though it had only done 8k miles.

I have got a JCW exhaust mainly to keep my warranty and the BMW look, when I first got it I was a bit dussapointed as it wasn't that loud (it did make the pops louder and did have a nice rasp to the exhaust though) I then went down to a place called RSR which deals with tyres clutches and exhaust etc I got the centre silencer taken out for £70 and was repalaced with a powerflow pipe.....DEFINITLY the way forward although I'm sure people who have the miltek system will disagree but IMO I think it's the best way if your looking for the BMW look and with those JCW exhaust pipe trims
