Starting to spec my new MCS, any ideas?

Hi Guys

I've pretty much set my heart on a MCS to the point where I am arranging to withdraw my deposit from the bank. However what I need to sort out is my specs and options. Here's what I have so far.

MCS Dark Silver w/ Black roof and mirrors
Cooper S Chili pack
Black w/ half leather
17" S Spokes
CD Player with MC prep
Heated jets and mirrors
MFSW
Harmon Kardon speakers
ISOFIX

I know thats no tmany options but I want to keep the price under 17k GBP. Can anyone thank of any essentials that I've missed? I didn't list out all the Chili extra coz I am sure you know what they are!

I spec'ed it using the made to measure function on MINI.co.uk so I don't know if I know about all the options! Are there any extra traction/ brake add-ons? and are the front fogs in the Chili pack the front spots which sit in front of the grill? If not does anyone know how much these are?

I decided to go with the MFSW because of the cruise control, this does still apply to the manual doesn't it?

Sorry for all the questions

Cheers

Matt

After listening to the factory radio & cd changer in my MCS (We get the Boost system here) -- You can easily do better from the aftermarket. Just get the cheapest AM/FM/Cassette for now, and install a nice system later. You don't need a subwoofer or some huge system (unless you want one!) - just some better-than average speakers and headunit.

With the money you saved on that, you can get the DSC stability system. It'll pay for itself the first time it saves you from sliding into a guardrail or another car.

I don't know what's in the Chili pack - the US has the options bundled differently.

And.. yes the cruise control still works with the manual transmission. In addition to the usual behavior of disconnecting when you apply the brakes, it will also disconnect when you depress the clutch (to prevent over-revving the engine).

Thumbs up

I went for similar spec

MCS EB / W with Chili Pack, Single CD upgrade, Boost audio, DSC and Head Airbags.

Can never have too much safety in a small powerful car....
£16,700 Dec UK delivery (6 week wait).

Didn't go for sunroof (aircon is fine) but I can understand why people do - it is soo big.

Lucky you - the car will be superb

Don't forget the TLC package, a real bargain.

Have a listen to the CD boost radio. I've got it and am very happy with it. It also looks the part with the other bits of the dash.

Are the Harman Kardon speakers (sound system ?) available yet?

The Chilli pack should provide the fogs in the bottom of the spoiler.

The additional driving lamps can be fitted by the dealer. Prices vary but I think some people have said about £250 fitted.

I think the S comes with ASC+T which is traction/stab control. The Dynamic Stab control is more expensive but more complex so probably better. I'm sure some owners will be able to help or do a search.

The cruise will work on the manual. No point offering it on the S as it only comes as a manual.
