What replacement battery for cooper s?

Hi, I called out RAC yesterday who jumped my mini cooper s convertible and then tested the battery which had almost immediately lost its charge again - battery is bust. The RAC man tried to fit a replacement but the air-vent pipe connection on the cooper was too big for the hole on the battery and so he couldn't fit it. There is no information on-line about what exact battery spec I need for the mini cooper s; and the mini handbook just says the battery will never break! So my questions are 1) what spec battery do I need for a cooper s convertible (2004/5 reg); 2) how do i ensure I get one with a large enough air-vent connection; and 3) where do is best to buy one i.e. Halfords or online? Thanks!

When i needed a new battery for my mini i went to
Tayna Batteries they were great.
Delivered the battery within 2 days.
Follow the on screen prompts, you can't go wrong.

If I were you I'd just go to the dealership and get the BMW part - my battery is original so over 5 years old now and the car mostly does short trips which is a testament to the quality of the part.

I was quoted £95 all in inc' them fitting it and disposing of the old one - if you have any issues easy to pop back for a warranty replacement etc.
I'm going to replace mine just for piece of mind at start of winter before I head to the snow.

IMO not worth the time to trawl the internet, maybe get the right part, wait for it to be delivered etc.....saving all of maybe £20?

If you have to go the internet route I'd get a Bosch, always had them in my cars never had a single problem looking at about £85.00 for one of those.
