cooper s options

So, I am going to go order a cooper s this weekend. Right now I think I will order ds/w with silver 16"s. 16" because I live in the city and don't want to break rims.Since I dont want 17s, the sport package seems a little silly. I am not dying for many of the options, and I think I will get close to a stripper. Are there any options that you are really glad to have? Or are there any you wish you had skipped? I was told by the dealer that I will pay list, but to expect a 9 month wait. I guess that's ok, because I could use some time to put some oney together. Going to miss my miata though. Thanks in advance.

sticking it to the man since 1973.

I'd also got an S without a ton of options - but the best one of all is the multi-function steering wheel because of the radio control buttons on the back side of it...I never need to touch the radio itself...very cool. And cruise comes with that, too - all for $300. The reason why the sport package is so good is the DSC - a great option to have if things get bad, from what I've read. Other than that, I agree with keeping it simple. Good luck!

I ordered all options ala carte on my 2002 DS/W 'S' ... DSC and foglights from the Sport Package, plus MFSW, OBC and auto-air from the Premium Package. Didn't want 17" wheels (large wheels out of character on MINI, not enough tire sidewall), Xenon lights (replacement cost, most of my driving in well lit areas) and sunroof (extra 61 lbs, didn't use the one in my last car very much).

If I had it to do again, I'd drop the OBC (it's inaccurate) and add HK audio (it's now available).

I got 16" wheels as well

and am very happy about it for my very urban driving environment.

But I did order the rest of the sports package, ala carte. I wanted the lights, I wanted DSC, and I am very happy with the car.

I also ended up with the sunroof ala carte, and wanted to get the full premium package, but the dealer got confused.
If I had to do it again, I would get the full premium package.

I also got cold weather - already the heated seats are getting plenty of use.

The only thing that I would say is that I sometimes think about a much more of a "stripper" MCS - no options except for heated seats...kind of a purist car- all the fun, no disctractions, and a lot of money in the bank.

But really, any Mini is a great choice.
