| Just bought an 03 Cooper S! So I purchased an 03 Cooper S (dark silver / white) with 67k on the clock about a week ago. Had two inspections done at Mini before the purchase, both checked out fine, minus a few small common issues. Loving the car so far, and fixing all the small issues it has one at a time (leaking coolant tank, worn out control arm bushings, terrible shape wheels/tires), as well as upgrading some components. Mod bug has already hit me, and I blacked out the headlight rings, and bought some brand new wheels / tires to replace the old worn down S-Lite's and unmatched dry rotted tires. Mods I've done since buying it a week ago: Wheels are 17x7 +40 Falcon F10's, wrapped in 205/40/17 General Exclaim UHP's. Loving the setup, sits so much better than the factory +48 wheels. Black headlight rings were done with plasti-dip. I will be updating this thread as I add mods along the way. Next up, is to black out all the chrome in the front grills / hood, and tint the tails. Pics from day I got it, and pics from today are attached: |

| Congrats! I just bought a Mini myself a few weeks ago. '08 MCS same color as yours. I was thinking about blacking out the grill trim as well. Mind posting a pic of it when you do it? Interested to see how it looks before I do it myself. BTW, your paint looks great! Cheers |

| Blacked out the hood scoop, wet sanded/polished the headlights (look brand new!), and debadged the rear over the weekend. Also went ahead and sprayed the rear badge black as well, but I'm still deciding as to whether or not to re-install. |

| Nice looking car! I also bought myself a 2003 reg dark silver S - with 67k on the clock :-) I've had the same issue with coolant leaking, which was a quick and easy fix - on the downside I've also got supercharger issues which are just a tad more expensive to fix :-D Lovely looking car. congrats. | Yeah, mine was a split coolant tank too - only a 20 minute job. It's a common problem apparently. The SC has started to make a bit of noise, due to a dodgy baring. The mechanics thought it was the pulley barring but after replacing the pully it was still making a noise. I now need to replace the SC - parts are around £900 + VAT + Labour. I'm in the process of shopping for a user SC as they're a lot cheaper. Robert |
