First Car, 05 MCS!

Just picked up my first car on Tuesday, its an 05 Pepper White R53 with 50k miles on it. I'm still figuring out the manual transmission, but I can't wait to get good and start having fun with it! Any tips or tricks for a mini newb would be great. I'm starting to look at summer tire options, so any recommendations would be great guys. The tires would be for the R84 16" rims. I've already ordered some black hood stripes for it too. Let me know what you think! I'll have a pic up later today

Edit: here she is!

Hi, looks like this forum is grinding to a halt! Your mini looks great, you will have great fun driving it. as you are in Canada my tip would be to get some driving gloves, or your hand will freeze to the metal gear knob!

Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing when I was driving it the other day! Although I don't think it will see much use in the winter since I can't stand to see the salt they throw around on our roads make a mess of it, at least not with all the time I have spent waxing it

I'm starting to get a bit better at driving a manual transmission, but still far from good. I've decided not to go with runflats as far as tires are concerned, if anybody could throw some ideas out there it would be greatly appreciated!

Well done Andy. It's your first car and you've managed to get it right first time: you've just gone and bought a nice example of the best MINI ever built - a facelift model R53 Cooper S!

If you are happy to deal by mail order, may I recommend this link for you?:

Thanks! I did alot of research and found that 05 and 06 were the years to look for. I love the exhaust popping and the supercharger whine is addictive. Thanks for the link, but I actually just made my order for mini goodies a few days ago!
