Exhaust recommendations

My exhaust has just blown above the cat on my 2002 Cooper S so i need to replace it.
The one that was on there had a nice tone low down but wasn't too noisy.
I dont want to replace it with a standard exhaust from a local garage as it will be too muffled. So does anyone have any ideas on manufacturers i should be looking at?
Also i want to remove the cat as they don't test emissions where i live, so i need a full system

Cheers

Hi,

I had a Milltek fitted on my 2003 cooper s in the summer, best mod I've done so far! Doesn't sound over the top but when you put your foot down it really roars! Also pops on the uplift of the throttle

+1 for Milltek. Followed the exhaust with the manifold as well which has a sports cat. I'm no expert but I'm sure I have read of people losing power running with no cat

Yeah Miltek is the way forward! I've had mine on for a few years now and I still love the sound of it. Driving normaly it's not too noisy but give it the beans and it sounds ace. Mine pops quite well too and this will only sound better without the cat.
