Does the oil dipstick need to fully go back in when checking the oil? (r53) So the orange/yellow top clicks right back into the tube, then you pull it out? Or do you just go to the bottom of it and not click it fully back in?
(I only ask because mines so difficult to snap in and out, when I first got it it was stuck)
Pull it out wipe it then put i back in, the dip stick needs to full in like as you would drive it. Then pull it out the oil should be at the upper dot on the orange end that's you maximum.
Make shore the car is on flat ground when checking it and left for a couple of min. It may take a couple of goes it can be a little bit of a pain if you oil is clean
The r53 dipstick can be abit of a fiddle sometimes to get in, I would surgest when you are checking your oil always have a good look at the dip stick for cracks and splits if it's damaged get a new one they do brake.
