I just bought a 2003 Mini Cooper S with the sunroof and am considering installing roof rails similar to those that are optional on the Countryman. The ones I am looking at now are offered by Perrycraft and are called Dynasport.
Does anyone here have experience with these or something similar? I am not interested in the transverse racks that are available through Mini.
No, I mean roof rails that are attached with screws to the roof sheet metal like those on every minivan on the road today. See the Perrycraft website. Once the rails are installed, Mont Blanc crossbars can be attached to them.
I wouldnt think you could screw anything directly to the MINI hatch roof metalwork unless it has the necessary strengthening ribs etc on the underside, you would just buckle it?
Vehicles that have roof rails normally have the purpose inbuilt channels for them to fit onto.
