Mini Cooper S R53 Gearbox....

Hi all,

Last week whilst driving home from work I had a clicking sound as i went faster the clicking went faster. I pulled over and oil was rapidly coming out of the car.

The garage diagnosed that the differential has gone, apparently quite common. Anyway to conclude the gearbox can not be refurbed as something that happened to it meant it could not be done.


Does anyone know of a reputable place to get a 2nd hand / rebuilt gearbox from that does also not cost the earth?

How many miles on gearbox? Getrag boxes are not savvy to 1-2 quick shifts. How long did you go in intervals on transmission fluid change?
