hey so a while ago i had my idler pulley die. i got a replacement idler pulley from the auto parts store and after having replaced it and driven for a while the washer piece that is crimped onto the bolt wound itself off making the pulley loose and wobbly (also i think the design is kinda flawed) . so after taking it off again and finding this i noticed that there is a 16mm recess in the block about 5mm deep and the spacer on the pulley does not fit into this, the spacer on the pulley is 26 mm wide. i ws just wondering if this is the way its supposed to be if lost a spacer piece when i took the old pulley off or if the replacment pully is the wrong part or just a plain piece of junk? i'm still running it the belt is not running on Centre of the pulley and it chirps when it starts up till the belt is warmed up and sticky, i'm not sure if the idler pulley is the incorrect distance from the block or maybe my Alta. s/c pulley got pulled out a bit when it came loose. so just wondering from anyone who has done the repair do i have the right pulley ? it looks the same as all the replacement pulleys online.
this weekend i think i will reset the s/c pulley and align the alternator to be sure it may just be chirping because the pulleys aren't true
thanks guys
