Hi. I have a 55 plate S works 44000 miles, it's got an intermittent weak start issue with puff of black smoke from exhaust, it feels under power and under full load on higher revs it has a kangarooing effect it's hesitant! The exhaust is rattling internally from the middle section near to the CAT, my spark plugs were black after only a month of them being changed and I'm told my clutch is on its way out! I had it on a RR at Lohen and it measured at 202 bhp instead of 210 bhp! They reckon my exhaust could be holding my car back? Any advise would be great guys please I recently also changed my O2 sensor pre CAT under warranty as the light came up for it! What's wrong with my car guys? How do I get that 8 hp back and fix all the other issues? Many thanks
Thanks guys. We'll Lohen have said it's the CAT but I can't see all my issues being down to just that? My one was a factory JCW I have the certificate it was done the same time of production. 230+? What mods does he have? Thanks
If the lattices in the cat are blocking the flow then you will get reduced power and exhaust gases will choke the engine and effect combustion due to a huge increase I back pressure. I think all your problems could be a dodgy cat.
Hi. Thanks for your info everyone. I will let you know how she is after the work needed. I have installed EBC grooved & drilled discs back & front with EBC red pads, the problem is my brakes are not good neither sharp?! I've bed them in twice now! I've been told the red stuff is no good when cold and I drive very local so I've been told to go for mintex pads as they have a very good cold bite?! Can anyone help me on this? Thanks
