What cars have you owned before your S?

Hi Guys,

I'm in the process of checking out the Cooper S. I'm thinking through options and colors, etc. I've been reading though the forums for a while and enjoying all of the great info. I'm curious, what other cars have you owned before the MCS?

Myself, I've owned two Miatas, an MR2 Turbo, a 944, a 911SC, a 911 C4, an M Coupe, and now a Boxster, which the Cooper S might be replacing.

Which was then traded in for a Dark Silver/White Cooper S…..yay

Welcome to MINI2 Josh.

Personaly (and with all due respect) I'd be keeping the Boxster.

Interesting though, the number of people around here replacing AUDI TT's and Porsches for the S. Must make BMW feel all warm and fuzzy.

Well...the only thing I've had that's closest to the S is a 1990 Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9...that had no ABS and better still no Power steering. It was the best handling car I've ever driven The handling and steering feel of the S and the 205 are very similar.

Here's the full list...

• Citroen Visa Club - all 652cc,2 cylinders, 36BHP and YELLOW!
• Ford Cortina 1600 - great fun in the snow
• 1978 Mini 1000 - in finest BL brown - tuned to the dizzy heights of 53 bhp at the wheels
• Alfa Romeo 33 - great engine - shame about the holes in the body
• Citroen CX 22TRS - fabulous for long distance till 5th gear blew up on the M6
• Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9 - only spun it once.....
• BMW528i - it was an economy drive - had to sell the Pug to buy a kitchen
• Sabb 900 Turbo 16 Valve - great in a straight line - whoooooooooosh!
• New Beetle - shame I never got a VR6 under the bonnet....
• and now the S

Still to get are a 1974 Porsche 914, another new beetle with a VR6 and 4 wheel drive and possibly a TVR Tamora - but I'll have to save up....
