England Cooper S Engine Rebuild

Hi I am in the process of rebuilding my 2003 Cooper S,
My engine has been completely stripped down, new piston rings , reground crank etc.
I am in the process of setting up the timing chain Crank to camshaft, can anyone help, other than the manufactured marks (arrows) on the sprockets and the copper marks on the chain. I am not convinced I have the cam and crank in the right position,
everything I have read about refers to marking the pulleys when you strip it down, but I don't have these marks.
My concern is I am a tooth out or that the camshaft is 360 out sounds crazy I know.
Just want some conformation that what I am doing is right!

Hi ya

Cam timing is easy on the w11 ( oil pump cover off )
on the lower cam chain sprocket there are two dots they look like center punch dots set that around the 6 o'clock position.
On your cam chain there are two copper coloured links align then with the two dots.
Pull the cam chain up with your finger, you will see an arrow looks like a triangle on the cam sprocket, align that with the single copper coloured link at the top rotate your camshaft and align the locating pin on the cam with the top cam sprocket.
Torque up the cam bolt, then fit you rocker shafts and arms. Be carefully installing the rocker arm it easy to damage the lash caps and the nylon holders.

Hope this help
