Hey, guys - I'm a first-time poster, so if this is in the wrong forum, then I apologise!
Anyway... My insurance is due at the end of next month, and I thought it might be time to move on from my trusty (or not so much!) first car - a 1998 Renault Clio (I know... how unfortunate, eh?
). I'm considering a lot of cars, and one of the ones that has appealed to me is the Cooper S. I've found a particular one that I'm keen to have a look at: 2003, 83k miles w/service history, generally in quite good condition, judging by the pictures.
As I'm kind of new to the whole car scene (I've only been driving a year next month), and definitely new to Minis, I'm just wondering if anyone can offer any buyer's advice to me, please? Things like how many miles is classed aa decent, as I plan to keep the car for three years doing approximately 15k per year; although, this may be less, as I'm planning to go to uni in September! Also, things like servicing - how easy is it to service? (As I've heard they're not the easiest or the cheapest things to service, haha!), and the fuel, too... as it's a 1.6 supercharged I4, I'm not expecting anywhere near 1.2 diesel MPGs, but I'd just like to know average drink requirements by the motor.
So, just general buying advice, really - servicing, mileage, MPG figures, etc, as well as some advice on bodywork (rust, etc), too, if at all possible.
