Items of Question

Hi All,

Just picked up a 2003 Mini Cooper S and enjoying it so far. I am having the same things that seem to be inherent to the Mini's. Like boot light staying on (fixed that), airbag warning light on (haven't fixed that), interior light not working right (programed that), and service interval reset. I'm hoping to copy or attach a picture showing some items I have no idea what there are or do. One is a small button on the left side of the dash, another a three button item on the end of a pig tail, another two pipes coming out of the rear, and finally two solid small rods, that are drilled and threaded with screws in them on the front. Hopefully you can see all this in the picture circled in red. Thanks and it's a pleasure to be here.

The button on the dash (Euro Parcel Shelf) was probably for aftermarket driving lights which might also explain the threaded rods in the front (possibly used to mount the lights).

The two parts coming out the rear bumper are from a MiniFini Sport Link.

No idea on the 3 button item.

Thanks for the information and I believe you are right about the lights. I bought the car off a car lot and the salesman did know it was a Mini, but after that he had no clue. Now I'll dig into the airbag warning light or the cruise thinking the brakes are on all the time and will not engage. It does not sound like much can go wrong, that someone hasn't already had. I think it's going to be a fun car to tinker with.
