Hi all new here and have been looking for a facelift 54 onwards mcs/jcw with the aero kit and must be in grey!
Anyhow have found this one
Pistonheads. Grey one 2005 in surrey
Has a gtt260 kit on it and doing a bit of research seems there is some controversy over the gtt kits. Obviously it has already been paid for and il just be buying it, but has the kit caused any engine or long term problems with these cars? Anyone know that car in particular ?
Or if anyone is selling one please let me know ASAP. Like I said must be grey, facelift with the aero kit and either a jcw or sensibly modded! Cash waiting!!
running 270 -280 bhp gtt with gtt water meth 152,000 no problem so far . Can recommend . If you want a car you can trust history ect buy from roland at gtt direct and add mods from there thats what i did . safer bet ...
If you are looking at R53 that has engine mods giving power of circa 260+ bhp you will certainly need to be prepared to lavish some extra care and attention on it from a maintenance perspective e.g. more frequent oil changes than BMW recommend.
It will also need to be looked after by a specialist who really understands the engine mods. So, if you buy a GTT modded Mini you should be prepared to have it looked after by them. So, need to factor in how convenient it will be for taking the car for service and maintenance work.
Also, with this amount of power the brakes MUST be upgraded to something a bit more effective than the standard MCS originals.
Would be good to know if he got one, what experience etc.
Definitely ignore the negative crap about one tuner when it usually comes from another one, or the staff, or just groupies haha
Just buy the car you like, I'm sick of reading some of the ******** out there, it's just unprofessional really, or unqualified propaganda.
