Hi I've owned my first gen 2002 cooper s for around 18 months and had little problems if any, however this week whilst driving the air con/ heating system started to fail intermittently and the wipers would not turn off, if you then flashed your high beam the stereo unit switched off. I first thought water in the system some where, so set about squirting all ECUs I could find with wd40 and elec solvent to clean and dry them, cleaned battery terminals and started car up all worked fine, drove car next day and again faults occurred if I cycle the ignition several times the fault sometimes clears for the journey but can happen once ignition is switched on again. That's me done any help would be great!!??
I have been into this bcu and checked all seemed ok however I suppose I was expecting corroded joints and a nice little puddle to dry out and job done. Car booked into a local auto electrician on Thursday next week but will remove and clean using elec solvent and fingers crossed will post any findings thanks.
All faults cleared using diagnostics non related to showing faults. Took car quick drive all fine until ignition cycled then all back. Driving back to garage and all cleared, garage not been able to fault and diagnostics showing nothing have recommended BMW. All good at present but one pass door not unlocking via toggle switch or remote.
I have a mini one 2002 , it has very low millage 39k km. The car runs great but my air bag light came on and the outside temperature in the rpm meter shows incorrect temperature. What should i do?
Wipers wont turn off, abs light flickers and radio mucks up a bit.
please forgive my lack of understanding would replacing the ignition switch fix this in your opinion?
