What a difference an ocean makes! I saw my first *other* S (other than my own) on the road--not counting at the dealership when I test-drove--only last week. Although I saw another one the next day, too. This in Washington DC, which is not Southern California, but it has more than its fair share of performance cars. But I see Coopers all the time. I find it hard to believe that the ratio is 60 S's to 40 Coopers around here; I'd be surprised if it's even 40:60! |

| Our office has a great view from North Sydney looking back towards the city ... I get to watch the harbour and the traffic flowing over the bridge all day I don't see many MINIs and I am always looking for them ... ratio would seem to be 60:40 Cooper:Cooper S maybe even 70:30 and I would probably only see about 2-3 a day ... I'm not looking all the time but the view is too good to resist Can't last forever though ... I'm going to get assigned sooner or later, and then I'll be in working in a concrete box in the middle of nowhere Cheers Steve |

| I saw an article yesterday (can't remember where) which included in it a mention of 25,000 MINIs thus far delivered to the US. First, I'm surprised by that number since I had always heard that the total quantity per year was to be only 20,000. Anyway, if that figure is correct, the number of MCSs in the US would be: 10,000 based on a 40:60 ratio (MCS:MC) 15,000 based on a 60:40 ratio 17,500 based on a 70:30 ratio It's anyone's guess but based on what I've observed on the road here in the DC area (2 MCSs in the 4 weeks since I got mine), there are either far fewer than the above suggests or there are lots of MCSs stored away in garages waiting for better weather! You can sleep in your car but you can't drive your house! |
