Cooper s 2003 has issues !!!

Hello
From the beginning.
Picked up a cooper s with the engine gone, (oil pump failure caused the crank on cylinder 3 pic up) Anyway fitted new engine, clutch and everything else involved. Car ran mint for 2 months. Wife got in it one day and both the DSC and run flat light on. Checked it on snap on diagnostic and fault code 005E38 rotation rate sensor. Ran the car with live data and all wheels showing a wheel speed that is pretty balanced.
Bit the bullet and put in BMW for a diagnostic, apparently it has water ingress in the BC1 and fuse 5 no power. Also same code for the rotation rate sensor.
Have looked at the BC1 wiring, nothing looks like it runs through the DSC unit. Also no sign of water damage just a slightly damp carpet. Have re calibrated the steering angle sensor and had alignment checked.
Spoke with a mini specialist today who informs me that fuse 5 is not used on my model and will have no power. Is this correct ?
Anybody have any ideas of what to check next ?
Wiring to DSC unit not been damaged on the bracket!
What could cause the water in the footwell ? Non sunroof model.
Also noticed water in the boot ? Rear lights ???

Apologies for all the questions ! Any help greatly appreciated.
Car will be broken for spares if I can't get it sorted as nobody wants to buy it !

Hi mickship0412. I've never used a snap on scanner so not sure on their codes, does the warning light clear down and only come back on when you drive/start moving? Or does it come on straight away ? The n/s/f sensor is common to failure over all the others, not sure why. When you said rotation rate sensor fault stored do you mean wheel speed or Yaw rate ?

thanks for your help with this, to get communication with the scanner the ignition is on, the code will clear and show no fault codes. when you start the car without moving the lights are still present and the code is present again. It just says rotation rate sensor, 05e38. when i had the diagnostic @Bmw this is the same code they gave me. they told me they could not investigate it further without getting power to fuse 5. I have been informed that fuse 5 has no power as it is an option so i dont think the BMW guys have a clue really. Its one of the joys of living on a small island. what is the yaw sensor ? Is it seperate to the dsc unit or do you have to change the lot ? i will strip the wheels off over the weekend and change the sensor. i will check the pick up ring on the back of the Brg too. once again thanks very much.

Mini.mjb I have noticed in another thread that a guy called lukejade had the same issue it's the one about the steering angle sensor reset, I have read through the post but not sure if he got it sorted. Is the yaw rate sensor programmed to the car ? Is it something that you can buy secondhand or would you recommend a new one ! Again thanks for the help with this !

Hi there
Have had water in the boot myself so things to check are high level brake light, back lights, rear wiper seal, and main gasket. I did all of those then found the leak was coming from the clips that hold the rear window trim at the bottom of the glass on. One had been broken and not replaced so the water was running down the glass, under the trim and then through the hole into the inside of the boot door. Then coming out the interior trim onto the wrong side of the gasket which is why it was so difficult to trace.
Its all fun though.
