Commuting Economy

During the week when i commute around the M25 & M11 i get about 310-320 out of a tank driving like saint on the cruise control, But when i enjoy the car at the weekends i make 230 at best it must be said the car hardly see fifth gear at the weekends let alone sixth.

Does anybody get these sorts of figure whilst driving it sensibly as many i tell are sceptical of my claim

I've been consistently getting 25.5 mpg. That's in US gallons -- I think for Imperial gallons that'd be 30.6 mpg. My commute to work is 12.5 miles one-way in stop & go city traffic. I recently put the roof rack on for the summer biking season, and it's dropped to 25.0 mpg.

My experience has been the same 22-25 mpg (city) depending on the "FUN" factor. Highway mileage with the cruise set at 70-75 mph gives me an average of 34 mpg. I wish mileage was better, but overall I've been happy thus far

I have a 16 mile round trip to and from work in stop and go traffic. Weekend is more spirited driving around town and I still have yet to do better that 19.5 miles to the gallon....

I have a LONG freeway drive this weekend so I hope to see at least 25mph with this tank (hopefully more)...

Trust not the heart of a man for whom old clothes, and the Mini, are not venerable!

I'm with you. I commute about 10 miles a day and I don't see 19 mpg. Highway driving gets me about 25-27 mpg.

Note for a longer commute: On 85 miles daily (90% freeway at about 75 mph) I see an average of 28.6. Total miles so far: 9002 on a 2003 MCS. It did get better after about 5K miles.

I've only had my MCS for a week... got it with a full tank, drove it to about a quarter tank left and filled up. Calculation showed 23 MPG (this is combined -- approx 80% city/ 20% highway)... OBC showed 26. Getting close to being ready to fill up again and the OBC says 29.7 right now... curious to see what it actually works out to... I'm guessing I get around 26?? I was hoping for 28-30 but I'd settle for 20 because this car is soooooo much fun to drive!!!!

My MCS is due next month, my current Mini One is much leaner on fuel than this.

I would expect the works package to be down further still, but I find this a tempting conversion nevertheless!.

I doubt even the Works version gets close to the 11mpg on my V12 Jag Coupe. So enjoy your MCS's - I cant wait to get mine even without the Hydrogen converson!.
