Its Here !!!... woo hoo !

My EB/W MCS finally arrived last Wednesday, then I left Wednesday night in it for a business trip so this is my first post since Mini has been in my hands !!...

Anyway just done around 400 miles, and WOW !, it seems that since my test drive 7 months ago i'd forgotten what made me me buy it on the spot, I kinda worried it wouldnt live up to my expectations after waiting and dreaming all these months, but all those doubts disappeared as soon as I left the dealer !!... took it very steady (as per the run in instructions ) and got about 350 miles to the first tank, i'm sure once the chastity belt is removed though that'll drop !!!! ...

Only 3 niggles really, sounds like the boot isnt latching properly, quite a loud creak and rattle from the boot area, CD keeps jumping (on flat roads !)... and engine emission light came on as i pulled into drive !!... bugger !... will get it looked at tomorrow.... apart from that many smiles !!!!!...

Pics to be posted tomorrow ( need to borrow my dads digital camera !)...

to all those waiting.... ITS WELL WORTH IT !!!!

Congas Northandy - I know exactly what you will be going through for another 850 miles. That whine just tempts you to open it up doesn't it

We've put 900 on the clock in a week and mixed it up with city, b-roads and motorways as much as possible.

Stop ruddy rainin cos the 2nd Cam needs a thrashin !

stormcrow.... yes it does, almost begs to be opened up .. have been more than tempted a few times !!! especially when I had some loon in a golf TDI baiting me on the M1 this afternoon !! ( but restrain myself I did )... it seems the engine fault is a faulty oxygen sensor, its getting fixed Thursday...

The ultimate accesory was added this afternoon, the obligatory www.mini2.com rear window sticker !!!

I'd get used to the baiting northandy, it didn't happen that much with our cooper, but people see those twin zorsts and just have to play.

Been very restrained so far, cept for tonight when we were heading back across the Wynard hall road between the A19 and A1.

Wife was driving and getting a feel for the handling when some cheeky little micra S decided to throw it through the corners and nip down the inside of a roundabout cutting up her line in the process. 500 yards later and another roundabout so I told her to go for it which she promptly did. Poor little thing was left floundering on the roundabout and became a dot in the mirror very quickly without her having to get anywhere near 4k.

Bob - even with the best poker face you won't be able to hide it

Adam

That was the first week I had the car 300km=200miles. Mostly in the city. more like urban driving. My old MC was bad at the beginning too on fuel. Had to drive a couple of thousand miles before things loosened up.
