Question Dsc?

Hi,

Ordered my MCS (July 21st delivery), can't wait, except I'm still waiting for someone to purchase my 206 GTi (anyone fancy it?).

Just need some advice whether to add DSC to help me stay on the road. Not a crazy driver but I'm thinking the MCS deserves some attitude.

What are the advantages?

Current spec:
DS/B (anyone got any pics, white seems fav)
Satellite Blue\Black
Chilli
Radio boost
Auto Climate
Multi Changer
Front seat heating
Head airbags front\rear (just in case)
Heated washers
MFSW
Tinted
Trip
Visibility pack

Here in the US, the cost of the DSC system is about what most people's insurance deductable is (the amount you have to pay when you're in an accident - the insurance company then pays the rest up to the limits of your policy). So if the DSC saves you even once from getting into an accident, it's paid for itself.

DSC - worth it, IMHO

I got DSC on my MCS, I saw it as an added safety feature. Poor weather is not uncommon where I live - rain, snow, ice, and DSC is very helpful in those conditions. Avoiding even one accident is well worth the cost to me (echoing ChipH's comment here).

Plus, with such a short wheelbase car, once you go sideways, it's pretty difficult to recover. DSC is a better driver than I ever will be.

Some will argue this of course... in the end you have to pick what's best for you.

Just my $0.02. Good luck!!

(Very nice spec by the way... DS/B is a great choice.)

Just got mine a couple days ago, first thing I did was test the dsc, and if I wasn't goin around in circles in a parking lot, I'm sure it would've been a life saver. And if you want to have a little fun and leave some rubber on the pavement, you can always turn it off. And just one more thought, the dealer quoted me a ludicrous price for tinting, 150 dollars less at a body shop.

Cooper S: Recently awarded the highest FunUnits per Dollar rating by JD Power and Associates.

Go for DSC, these cars are hard to get out of shape but if you do the DSC will pull you back on track and save your life. Plus you can turn it off and have some FUN!

Sicilian and Proud. MCS, DS/W, half leather/laps blue, Chilli Pack, DSC, CD Boost, Spot lights, aero kit, painted arches, painted wheels
