Oh yeah thanks for reminding me Aiden
£1500 at least to change insurance and add the works kit at £3600 makes £5100. Now that is absolutely stoooooopid money

Remind me about the works upgrade in a year when cost to change insurer might be less

Ah, but what amount of fun will £1500.00 buy !?

Why not go works when your current insurance expires, that way you dont have an overlap premium?

I've seen a few around here all black, and a couple at shows, but not that many still. I was considering it, but Abi's MINI One is all black, so that ruled that out!

Interesting turn of events today...

I test drove the Works S...I can see what people mean in that at first you don't notice the difference. BUT put your foot down and 'Hello'....it suddenly shows its face. So am I getting a Works Kit, well that depends...

Now as you know my dealership are selling my S for me. They advertised it for £16,499 and were meant to give me £15,500 return. When I arrived for my test drive I was called into the managers’ office, "someone wants to buy your car" he said..cool....."but, the best deal I could get for you was £15,000". At first it didn't sink in, he asked if I still wanted to sell and I said yes. But as I was driving home I couldn't help but get the feeling I was giving the car away. So when I got home I phoned the dealership and refused the offer. I was told I'd get £15,500 - now they're saying that said they would try to get me £15,500...sorry but that's not what was said.

So my car is still for sale. I have always said if I don't get the price I want I'm not going to sell. So despite the fact that my new car is due in two weeks (it's a week early) if I haven’t got £15,500 for my current S the deal is off.

I'm interested to know what people’s thoughts are on the matter. At the end of the day if they'd told me at the time that the best they thought they could get was £15,000 I would have tried to sell it privately. But that wasn't the case. I was lead to believe that they wouldn't have any problem selling the car, and that I'd get my £15,500.

Only four weeks ago they sold two Cooper S's for £16,000 and both were a lower spec/higher mileage than mine. The market can't have changed that quickly.
