TBH I'm a bit concerned about underfloor heating and then putting a tiled floor down, as sods law the heating will go wrong, and the floor need ripping up. Gonna go with a quality laminate I think.

Ah, I have a radiator in there already so thats easier for me....

I'm going for a polymer concrete worktop... similar to granite only with a very consistent colour

I'm still unsure about the underfloor heating... I've heard some horror stories of people having to rip up tiled floors ... although I don't have any free walls in the kitchen area for radiators

seems we all hear the horror tales of under floor heating

concrete surfaces, I think Andy told me about those, but not seen them. I am looking for new work surfaces for the kitchen, as the floor has now been tiled with a slate look tile as I was concerned about them flaking with time if I went with slate.

Are you using Chinese slate, as opposed to "proper" Welsh slate????

I didn't use any slate in the end For some reason I am speccin the house far more sensibly than the car

I look at the exact things that I think I would love to have, but then how much value could I expect back from a Northern Terraced house, so strike them off the list then find a similar looking item that just makes it attractive. As at the end of the day it will still be brought in future by a family with a couple of sprogs on an average wage, so no point in putting too much into it as I won't be where I stay forever and ever.

Why can't I do this with cars??

I'm trying to go for the slick modern look so I'm thinking along the lines of porcelain tiles... probably a matt finish though... can't be bothered polishing the floor... I reserve that pleasure for the Mini

Tonight I wanted to force the dealer at gunpoint....almost.

They had my beautiful baby for 8 days and I have been putzing around in a scroungey automatic Cooper. I rush out of work at 5:30pm and the traffic was awful. I FINALLY get there at a little past 7:15 (they close at 7:30) and they still had not programmed the key fob to deactivate the automatic lock thingey (when you are out of the car), nor the convenience opening. Also, the sunroof wasn't opening fully when I pushed the button thingey.

I'm sorry, but I got so p@ssed!!!! (Okay, I was polite about it, but it took every ounce of me to be).

They had a little list of things to complete. You would think they would have gotten it all done in 8 whole days!!

Too bad they had to put in overtime hours because I told them I was not going to take that Cooper back home. I was leaving there with my S. They had already inconvenienced me enough!!

Good thing is, it all got sorted and my sweet Lippy is sitting out front all shiney and everything is working 100%. I am so in love with this car. Wow. The ride home was so fantastic.

The whole time Isaac kept saying, "Your choice in colors and specs are beautiful." I said, I KNOW. Can I have my beautiful S back now, tyvm?"

Dealers!!

Glad you have the car back all 100%. It is annoying though when things arn't sorted as they should be.
I have to wait 4 more weeks for mine as production has slipped back.....

I can't rate underfloor heating highly enough
Fantastic for the tiled floors in the bathrooms and kitchen.
Yes there were initial worries about ripping the concrete up if it goes pear shaped, but I've been re-assured the pipes are all self sealing if a leak were to happen...
Besides the pipes aren't laid deep, just under the surface so minimal disruption required.
It's no different to ripping up your floor if your regular plumbing goes wrong I guess....

MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. It's now TTime
