I though the comment about rear grab-handles was justified though..... (IMHO).

My only disappointments with the GP are the exterior styling, and the "hipocrasy" with some of the weight reduction ideas, like still speccing a/c & MFSW..... , which as an engineer smacks of it just being a marketing, rather than an engineering exercise.....

Thats a very good point, and to cap it all if you ask some of these folk what they think of the car to drive, they have never even sat in one let alone driven it.
I make an effort to look at just about everything out there even if its just a visit to a showroom to see the car close up, if I get a test drive then so much the better. The new Punto gets a look tomorrow, don't want to buy one, but I do want to be able to discuss the thing in an informed way having at least looked at it in the flesh.
A lot of people dont get and won't get a GP, and that makes me happy, less is more

It is probably not what I would have done to mark the passing of the Mk1 (if we call it that), but to me it is a MINI and therefore I like it.

be sure to give a review on the Punto, I think it looks a nice motor, bit more class to it than previous models, and I hope its a winner for Fiat

I spend too much time looking at other cars... gotta keep this one for at least 2 years now... and maybe the new Scirocco will be out by then ...

Having to stop myself going to a ford dealer for a look at an ASBO

That's what I say every time I get a new car. My roxy lasted the longest at 18mths...
I do intend to keep the MX5 for ages and if circumstances do change I'll just run two cars, or get a company car again.

The problem is we are all car ho's

I'm strangly intriged by the ASBO too, the TV advert is cool I think

MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. It's now TTime

I would buy one if I was in the market for that type of car. Just seems more capable than the VXR and not as bland as the MK5 Golf......Although the Megane 225 in black with black alloys looks as hard as nails.....

Unles I wanted something much more practical I still can't see past the MINI at this sort of price point.......

My favourite thing about my car would be the Recaro seats...I just thought the dials were a nice touch.
