Nope, it was only a rumour it seems based on the press release from yesterday - power isn't being increased either.......

The wheels are very narrow for 18".

Can see me changing them as someone suggested and keeping them for when I sell the car.

I think the cost of the tooling & development to produce a large pressing like the bonnet in aluminium would make the project unviable for 4000 units.

I remember an ex-Rover guy at Lotus, who made a comment regarding the small "poer bulge" that was added to the '91-'96 Rover 200/400 to clear the cam drive.

He quoted a tooling charge of £500k.....and that was for a steel pressing, aluminium will be higher, plus ally may not be viable bearing in mind the shape / contours to be produced.

So do the JCW's with the leg bolsters and JCG's aren't sure why as of yet according to my sources

The GP is a real grower and I think the latest pics make the car look much more integrated than the original Misano pics did. It certainly has been a real grower on me after the initial shock, and I think its fantastic... its a special MINI, its not a modified by XYZ Co. MINI, its a genuine MINI and thats what the fuss should be about, and thats what the fuss will be about for the next generation in years to come.

Now if only it had 5 seats... where's that damn baker

I couldn't see them spending that sort of development cash on a run out model TBH. They will be putting all the budget into the MK2.
We all know how complex the clam shell is.

You could use it for the leads to tie them to it though

easy solutions would be to have some graphic wrap on it do a different colour or a toned graphic maybe, nicer idea would be the CF or the leather with red stitching from the JCW range
