Funnily enough I have been in Wollstons today. They made me go out in a JCW S....I did not want to..... but they forced me

Well all I can say is you really must try one..strewth power everywhere...it actually makes the long gearing on the S make sense. It was soooo much fun I still haven't stopped laughing. It is truely amazing. I think it is what the S should have been from day one

Is it worth £3.5k?.....I'm still not sure on that one.

Has it reawaken my enthusiasm for the MINI?.... You bet it has......

So, back to the calculations Washy??

Works coming up for you, I think !

You see washy, that is exactly why I DON'T want to test drive it
I was out in my MCS for a very long run and TBH I had a blast and do not I think I need the extra power

Instead of swapping the car I almost came a total cropper where for sure the car would've been written off if it wasn't for DSC
I was doing about 80mph down a country lane and as a came around a fast right hander I suddenly see this 4x4 overtaking a cyclist on my side of the road
I slam on the anchors and realise my car is not going to stop in time, so I guess under emergency conditions my brain went into overdrive and I saw that the grass on my side of the road was flat and even so I headed straight for it. Probably 50% of the car was on the grass when I went passed still doing about 60mph. Without the DCS the car would've definately spun as I was still mid corner. I did feel the rear step out and just floored it. As soon as the car came fully back onto the tarmac it did snap back but lifting off and the DSC brought everything back under control
That was my scariest car incident ever
Why the hell the other driver decided to overtake a cyclist on a blind corner I will never know
It's just brings back the point that it's the other idiots on the road you need to watch out for

I guess as sham was following me he'll have his story to tell about the incident too

That's twice now the DSC has saved my ass. £210 well spent me thinks

Oh yeah I forgot to mention....
Another fault appeared on my car today

After having my saggy sunroof blind changed for a new one this week, this one has broken already
I could hear the spring "ping" as I closed the blind and hence instant saggyness
Another trip to the dealer next week for me
I think the spring going is linked to the rattle in my lining, as that was fixed too until the blind "went".

I doubt if the 4x4 driver expected a MINI to be doing 80 around the corner!

Hope it wasn't too scary Martin....I had a moment wirth a tractor cutting the grass verge this afternoon....certainly focuses the mind....

Still not sure if the JCW S is worth the money, but I have decided to take the new S I am on the list for.

Just a question of spec now i guess.

I guess I was over-exaggarating
Time kind of slows down when you come across life threatening situations
I was probably doing about 55-60mph around the corner and dropped to about 40ish when I went on the grass

I can't believe how I actually handled the situation so well. I do remember vividly thinking as I'm slamming on the brakes that this is going to get nasty and then somehow I just see the escape route in slow motion and manouver without too much drama. Survival instinct I guess

Baaaaast@rd

No sheep plenty of deer though and a lot of road kill on the roads
Anand can add to the road kill count as he managed to hit a pheasant but unfortunately has damaged his front fog light and some of the plastic trim under his bumper

So does it get the thumbs up washy?

I'm so tempted

Hopefully I'll get the chance to test drive one next week if my dealer finally gets round to fixing the kit.

But 3.5K can buy so many toys

I loved it
I am still agonising over it really. I have been siting here playing with spec and it is coming ot at £21500 and that is for a car with less spec than the one I have.

But it was so much fun....

Then there is the Chili pack thing. I would rather have the X lites but if you spec all of the chili pack bits seperately it costs a fortune.

Decisions decisions

Neither my dealer, nor MINI Ireland can even tell me how much the JCW kit is over here......seems they aren't expecting much demand for it here, I'm estimating €5-6k !
