I'm paying £516, but I can't upgrade to JCW under the same insurers as they allow no modifications. This means I'll have to surrender the policy which will cost a couple of hundred quid and then find a new insurer. The next lowest quote was £750 but now that my NCB is down from 70% to 55%. So I'll have to pay say £1125 and then add JCW ontop and that'll make say £1200.
So we're talking about £1500 for cost of change of insurance
Way too expensive. I think I'll wait until my NCB is back up to 70% and protected before I upgrade

MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. It's now TTime

I am sitting here looking at my spec again....I need to knock the cost down a bit to keep within budget. Given that my P/X is not quite what I was hoping for (perhaps not being realistic with my figure)

So Do I lose the sunroof and sideskirts and keep the R90's.
Ditch the R90's and keep the skirts and roof.

Id say, lose the R90s, they seem to be overpriced, what about a BBS alternative, the RX wheels?

Washy,

Heres a link to some other wheels, might help in getting in under budget !

http://www.performancealloys.com/index1.htm

And actually, the RC wheels look super, even though they aren't supposed to be available for a MINI !

Yes, I think that is what I am going to do. Lose the R90's and get some BBS 16" with sticky tyres on later...

Having seen the pictures I am now toying with black/white and white wheels.... Will I never make my mind up.

Gotta sign on the line on Saturday....

Yep, wise idea, you just cant add the roof later anyway !

Colour is the big one, isn't it?

So, are you taking the S spokes, flog them later, and upgrade the wheels then?

How much did you pay? Whats your mileage?

I was offered a poultry £14,500 trade in for mine (£16,980 New -now 11 months old/9,000 miles). I managed to get the dealership to sell my car for me. They've advertised it for £16,499 and are giving me £15,500 return.

It meant I had to be Miniless for 5 weeks but is worth it for an extra £1,000.

A set of 17" RC's with tyres is the same price as the R90's without.....thats much better.

And they look as good, if not better even !

Though, it was said in another thread that the RCs are not available to fit a MINI or discontinued, so you should check availability, and maybe snap them up and store them if you are thinking of going with them.

QQQ thinks they don't fit, and a local wheel man over here told me the same, so it might be worth a phone call.

Mine was £18,200 it is july 02 and has done 13000 miles.
Apparently they have offered me list price less the vat...

Like i said i may have been expecting too much for it...strangest thing is they have one used MINI for sale, so are not overrun with stock.
