MSC 16" tire confusion...please help!

Hi,

I am in the process of ordering my MCS. I am getting the standard 16" V-spoke. My dealer asked me today if I wanted all-season or performance tires. I though there was only one choice (the all-season) for the MSC 16" wheels. Anyone else out there get to choose? I think she is mixing up the 16 and 17" wheels.

I read the FAQ and it only shows one tire for the 16" on the MSC. Dunlop SP Sport 5000A DSST 23.5lb (10.68kg) A,S
Anyone out there get there car delivered with something else? The dealer told me that the all-seasons are sometimes Dunlop and sometimes Goodyear. But in the FAQ it only show Dunlop.

Now I am really confused. Can anyone clear it up for me? And if I do have a choice, which should I go for (there is no snow where I live). Do the all-seasons really last very much longer? I drive a long way each day, so this is important to me.

Thanks for all your help!
Kerry

MCS with 16"s there is NO choice "all-season" only...
That's the was when I got mine. Maybe they changed?!
If you do a lot of spirited driving go with the performance,
the all-season doesn't work all that well. The performance
tires are not that bad in the wet.

When you get your car you are welcome to join the group.

My recollection is that you are correct, the 16" wheels are only available as all-season. The MINIUSA.COM website confirms this. Maybe it's a new option or something...

Good luck...

Is there only one brand for all-season?

My dealer also said that some are delivered with Dunlop and some with Goodyear. I thought that there was only the Dunlop for the all-season. That is what is on the FAQ. Anyone get anything different than the Dunlop?

I can't comment that. I have 17"s with Pirellis.
I'll check with somebody that has 16"s

I was right, dealer was wrong

OK, so my dealer was confused. I emailed them and they realized their mistake. All-seasons are the only choice for the 16". I would still be interested in if there are multiple brands though. Or can I expect the Dunlop.

Choices are very limited in 195/55-16 tires. If you check out availability of V-rated runflats at the Tire Rack, you'll only find three:

Dunlop SP Sport 3000A DSST (Ultra High Performance Summer)

Dunlop SP Sport 5000A DSST (Ultra High Performance All-Season)

Goodyear Eagle NCT5 EMT (Grand Touring Summer)

Unless things have changed, a stock 'S' will be shod with the Dunlop all-seasons.
