Auto air con

In the MCS specs they say that auto air con is not an option, is this true or just a miss print?

in the book they say it is not recomended well the auto air con that is, it is prob just to do with the fact that some people would leave it on all the time and it would hamper performance. but it is an option.

My S has auto air con but I did notice that it does say that it is not an option in the brochure - weird ?
How does it hamper the cars performance by leaving it on all the time anyway ?

The new brochures do indeed mention that it is not recommended. Strange comment really, the auto aircon wouldn't drain the car's power any more or less than manual aircon.

I have Auto aircon.

In my Cooper, engine was sluggish in this kind of hot weather we have at the moment (cold engine, hot car, aircon working overtime, engine starved of cool dense air). It was on a hot day I declared I'd had enough and decided to upgrade to Cooper S.

Now I have a Cooper S. I use auto aircon all the time in all seasons - set to 20C. I even use it when the windows are down. There are rare occasions I hit the Off button. To be honest, I've noticed no performance difference in the MCS.
