If you've ever got time read this epic thread

http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...930#post473930

Sounds like a really good spec to me already
The MFSW is excellent IMO. The radio/CD controls are a real bonus, cruise control however is a bit pointless in the varying speed and business of the UK motorways

go for the MFSW first...
everytime i drive another car i reach for the steeringwheel to chage somthing(i'm not the only one)
cruise control is also a benefit when taking highways

You need the multi function steering wheel, but don't bother with the DSC if your going for 200bhp, it's too intrustive.

Get the sunroof and keep the climate, that way you can use climate control on the motorways and in traffice jams and upen the sunroof when driving normally (under 50mph though, or it's like sitting in the middle of a hurricane)

Ditch the DSC, keep the MFSW!

Are you getting auto-wipers and auto-dipping rear view mirror? How about full leather, I'm glad I got that!

I spent £18k on mine. Best £18k I've ever spent!

You don't "need" Auto A/C, manual A/C is sufficient. MFSW is a must, cruise control helps me control my heavy right foot on the motorways.

In car audio is another matter. I have the CD boost, not worth the money IMO. Better off spending it on some good quality (not neccesarily expensive) aftermarket gear.

Agree with Rich-UK. I'm speccing my new MCS (replacing current MCS) for an after christmas delivery and MFWS excellent (I use it all the time), tempted by full leather this time, but go for the auto dipping mirror - very cheap and gives you an auto rain sensor (excellent on my previous M3!). I'm going HK this time, cheap again and I perfer that to the sunroof.

Have fun with the speccing!!!!!

I spent 18k on mine and got :

DS Cooper s
Chilli pack
climate upgrade
full leather
MFSW
SIngle CD
Heated washers/mirros
Visability package (heated screed, auto dip mirror, rain sensitive wipers)
white rear light
chrome mirror caps

In my opinion the MFSW is a must, and the vis package is excellent value too! didnt think the auto dip mirror would be any use at all, but its actually pretty cool. The auto wipers work really well too, better than units ive had on peugots etc before which i was concerned about.

think the sunroof is a waste of time personally, climate or ful leather money better spent.

dang! now im all confused again.

ok, so DSC is out. no-one seems to think its worth the dosh.

i wanted something on the roof, but if i get a sunroof it will cure me of that and break up the expanse of white. would drop to manual AC to part fund it.

rain sensor and vis pack always looked expensive at £270, but you are swaying me

am adding head airbags and heated mirrors.

need to think about ICE, although im happy with the standard radio + changer in molly

mfsw - I cant believe how many people bang on about this! - driven cars with it & without. So heres what you get:
1. Volume Controls on back of wheel!
You get a volume control on the stereo only a short distance away
2. Cruise Control! - well the concept of this is great, but on British roads when do you actually get chance to use it - apart from 3am on the motorway!

DSC is worth it, it saved my bacon a couple of times
Although "off the line" it can hinder you but you can work around it
The lateral control is truely superb and needs to be experienced to see its true capability

Sunroof is my favorite option as it adds so much light to the interior of the car and as it's so big it always draws the most attention from onlookers
The vis pack is actually only £170

Head airbags is a must. I didn't have them in my previous MCS and when I wrote it off my arm was sliced open by flying glass and head/curtain airbags would've prevent that as they're designed to stop debris entering the car
