United-Kingdom Hartge Cooper S

hi there, just come back from testing a Hartge Cooper S - it has covered 29k miles and is a September 02 car - high motorway miles for a year old - the Hartge conversion was done in Feb 03. I was really impressed with the performance - lots of supercharger whine but the mid range is awesome and it keeps going right up to the red line, you get to 70mph off roundabouts very quickly!. The car has a few stone chips and marks but isnt in bad condition for the mileage- DS/W with blue black full leather, Chilli pack, climate - i would have put the Hartge conversion on anyway so it isnt a bad deal.

A little help would be appreciated on the following:

1) can the 17" S wheels be refurbed easily, one of the 4 is pretty badly kerbed - any suggestions who/cost etc?
2) it has the standard radio, no boost, no CD (????) is it easy to get hold of the single CD boost? and do the speakers need upgrading
3) i also wanted the MFSW, can this be retro fitted??

thanks in advance - drop me a mail if you want further comments on the Hartge kit - i have driven standard S but not Works so cant compare.

'02 X5 4.4 Sport, '86 911 3.2 Sport, '04 MCS Black/B/B on order, delivery Jan04

Wheels are easily refurbed if the damage isn't too bad - I know a few people have had it done.

CD Boost - you might pick one up in the For Sale or Wanted sections on here if you indicate your interest.

The MFSW can be retrofitted, at a cost of around 700.00 quid !

£700!!! i'll be stretching to the radio buttons then! I presume the CD boost is just the headunit, in the factory upgrade they just use the existing speakers??

If it is bad kerbing it might be worth considering a new 17 S Spoke, they are around £130 each.

Cheers.

why not just put an autochanger in the boot? you may find that it has cd prep (it was a no cost option, well this year anyway)
