| Hi (and goodbye) to all you kind foke here on MINI2.com. After returning back from my holiday, my new replacement MINI Cooper S that was ordered because of the crap that I had suffered with my first MINI Cooper S (BK52MXM), had broken down, after only 3000 miles since October 2003. Yet again, like my old MCS, the power steering has failed needing my car to be recovered and for me to drive around in a Vauxhall Zafira hire car for a week. My history with the new MINI is a "total and utter farce" as a car buying professional friend of mine says. My MINI's are an absolute waste of my time and money. I am off to buy a second-hand car, a push-bike or get the taxi everywhere, because frankly, all would be more trust-worthy and cheaper... whilst I still have the choice and a job. All the best. I've lost my patience with these cars, but not you all here at MINI2.com. You've all been great. Sorry and thanks, Wayne ps: See http://www.mini2.com/forum/showpost....57&postcount=4 for my first MCS problems, having covered 18000 miles in 12 months. | Sorry to hear this ![]() I'm fed up with MINI too. My latest one is fine now, but did have teething problems. I for sure will never recommend a MINI or buy antoher one...... I'm even now considering trading in my MINI for something more practical and reliable. I couldn't really care less if I had a MINI or not now. MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. It's now TTime ![]() ![]() Unofficial MINI2.com bean counter |

| My wife has a May 02 build Dark Silver and White MCS. No major problems. 20k miles on the clock. Just ordered a new MCS from Sytner Leicester for delivery on 1st March 2004. Great car. You must have been born unlucky !!!! 2004 CR/B MCS |

| Yeah... Blimey. Am I right in saying that you and I spoke just before my first one went back? Seems like not enough people kept their fingers crossed when my new one was being made... ![]() It's a real shame that you and I feel like this. I've already spoken to MINI Customer Services UK to get me out of the car, to which I need to complete a letter to them stating (the obvious) as I am beyond the point at which the dealer could ever hope to placate me. Not that their managment are upto much anyway. Lets hope that BMW-proper haven't been tainted by the BMW/MINI alliance, and that they redeem their sister company in someway. I believe in the MINI product as a fashionable brand, but as a useful consumer item, frankly, they are *****. I'll never recommend a MINI to anyone either. Peoples careers and time are too important these days for anyone I know to lose because of a blasted car |

| You have my sympathy Wayne. I have to admit my new S is much better than my old one and I still think the car is absolutely fantastic to drive. BUT it really ![]() ![]() ![]() es me off that some of the same old niggles still exist. I have not owned a Mini (and I've had 3) that’s dashboard didn't rattle/creak.......arhhhhh it drives me mad. It's the little things that get to you that could so easily be rectified. Hopefully they'll get their act together with the make over cause if they don't they'll loose customers, cause at the end of the day when the novelty of the car wears of as it has done with some of us, we'll just get fed up and go elsewhere. I personally am sick of the sight of a BMW dealership thankfully I've only had to book my car in twice (in four months) to get niggles fix but if I have to go there again this car could be out the door. There is only so much one can take. In 2 years of ownership do you know who many times my dad has had to visit his VW dealership - zero, nil, nought. Me? - God Knows - 15,20 - a lot. At the moment my car is running fine, I did hear a creak or two today...but it is a vast improvement to how it was. All in all I am a happy Mini driver and I still love the car lets hope it stays that way.![]() Best of luck and let us know what you get instead. |
