Scotland MCS on 18's without runflats

Hi. Long time reader, first time poster. Just about to recieve my MCS and one thing to be changed quick smart are the wheels. Wanting to fit 18's but how do you guys running 18's on your car get around the problem of a potential puncture?

I'm running 18"s on my MCS and I carry a compressor and a can of tyre weld in the boot. I also have a product called puncture shield in my tyres as well which will fix a puncutre of upto 5mm.

Most people carry a can of "spray gunk" puncture repair "goop". (Technical terms here). MINI also sell a "get you home" kit, as do many places, with some sealant, and a pump you can plug in the cigarette power socket.

im just waiting for the shoe to drop.. been driving for over 15 year and never had a flat (knock on wood)and no spare tire. Now i did have the problem of melting 5 lugs off the Mini after doing the Dragon in the states. Which thanks to the help of Aprilwhine and the Fuzzy one. We did a road side repair and got me home.

cheers paul. something to look into. need to find some nice 18's that aren't as commonly fitted as the Breytons. Suggestions? I know thats a bit subjective but not many of the alloy wheel manufcturers have virtual galleries to test wheels on the MCS.

PS. know of anyone who has fitted a starter button kit in place of the cigarette lighter? always liked starter buttons and the original works cars used them so i thought it would be a nice 'romantic heritage' addition.
