After your test drive - what are you getting Cooper or
Cooper S???

It's a tough call....

I WANT the S, but can I AFFORD the S.... not sure.

If I don't get it, it's a money, not a car decision!

If the "S" would have truly knocked you off your feet then I am sure that you wouldn't be worry too much about affording it. I am just turned 21 and got an S on order for Aug/Sept and haven't yet even thought (worried) about being able to insure it etc.
How impressed were you by the cooper S. Rating of 1-10?
Can you tell a big difference when you plant your foot down on the accelerator between the Cooper and Cooper S?

I am in the same boat as James, I am 23, and I am cacking my pants about getting insurance (best is £1700 so far).

P.S. James, get yourself down to Endsleigh on Eccy Rd, ask about the 17-40 insurance scheme, I am in it now and they basically will match or beat the best quote you can get from anywhere else.

Thanks for the info Andy. Tescos seem pretty good too. I am with them now and paying just over a grand for my Cooper which isn't too bad for my first car in my own name. They don't list the S yet though so I have just had online quotes for the likes of the Clio 172 and MG ZR 160 which are coming off at around 1800 quid. Will definatley give Endsleigh a try though! Did you order yours through Sytners Sheffield?

Can you afford not to..... now you have driven the S will the Cooper ever feel the same again. Just delay a few months, save up, and be sensible on the extras that’s what I’ve done.
