next time I would choose a Cooper not MCS

currently running arround in the dealers base cooper - it doesnt have any extra options.
the only things I would add would be a/c and sport seats plus leather steering wheel.

I have been in the car a week and have to say I am very impressed & am even beginning to be swayed towards the cooper, its equally as fun as my MCS (although i do miss the supacharger whine!) far better on fuel, I prefer the gear box, although i do keep crunching reverse when looking for 6th!

Yep me thinks I might now be in the market for specced MC for £10k!

Do you think you'll find one for that? Don't think I've seen any on Autotrader etc for as little as that.

Makes sense financially, but in all honesty I've fallen in love with the supercharger whine

Hi Bob

I have a Cooper and just had a Cooper S on loan for the weekend, When I got back in my Cooper I realised how good it really is I will not be rushing out to get an S, it may be quicker but it does not mean its better Coopers here come with a/c, sports seats and a leather wheel along with 16's, everyone orders them so they made it standard.

It's a strange thing, but there is something about the Cooper that just doesn't exist in the S. I only had my Cooper for 8 months, but I still miss it.
One of the reasons I went for the JCW conversion on my S was the fact I always felt a little disappointed with the standard S. Yes it is quicker, but not that much in the real world and it just never seemed to be as much fun.
My other half is getting a convertible...and you have guessed it she is having a Cooper

I have a MCS on order but there is something I did really like about the MC. The gearbox is by far smoother in the MC and I liked the way that although the acceleration was slower it had a real rapidness above 4,500rpm. I must admit I couldn't really tell much difference in the harshness of ride between the SS Cooper on 16" wheels and SS+ Cooper S on 16" wheels but maybe thats just me. They are both great cars though and because of the way my insurance and extras worked out the MCS cost very little more than the MC for me so I changed my order.

I've never driven as S but i've always preferred the look of the cooper to the S. Its more 'pure' somehow, more 'mini' than the S.

Plus theres the added benefits of much lower fuel consumption & almost half the insurance cost

Cooper S rules

True gearbox is bit harsh on the S than the Cooper - but it is a beast to drive and the noise of that supercharger is wicked - well worth my money just for that!

Going for the Cooper you will always feel that you opted for the lesser of the 3.

I did that with my Saxo VTR rather than VTS but that was as i was young and without any No Claims.

Copper S rules!!

Those Twin Centre exit exhausts are gorgous - has the best looking ass i have seen on a small hot hatch and can ****** on any golf size car - except the sperm of satan being the Civic Type R

£10k! You'll be lucky.

My specced 02 Cooper is going for £13.5k to a dealer.

The Cooper S is by far a better car IMO.

Why do you say that? Civic type-R is an excellent car.

I have a MCS! two weeks old! I did test drive a cooper. It was good, but nothing compared to the S. They're both good cars, but the s is better!! and more expensive!

I used to own a CTR, great engine and gearbox but basic and bland inside.
