Their Portugal first drive is out in issue 7 20.03.02 and is very positive about performance, gearchange and handling (Handling and adherance in a class of its own). The title: Cheap sportscar or expensive small car? It is very critical of the fake aluminium dash and concludes (loosely translated):

The Mini Cooper S costs EUR 19'800, not much for a prettily packaged 163 PS and addictive sport suspension. However a lot of money for a small car with plastic interior trim.

Theres a lot of negativity about the faux aluminium dash everywhere........I like the Cooper Silver. I wonder.......

Yesterday's show on VOX (a german satellite/cable channel) showed Portugal footage. Fake aluminium not mentioned and the commentary was very encouraging. The only slight negative came at the end when they suggested that "S" stands for "sehr teuer" (very expensive) which I really cannot agree with. What else can you get for € 20'000 which comes anywhere near the S????
